Indications

When this examination may be used

A clinician chooses imaging based on the question being investigated. Examples include:

  • Clinician-directed breast assessment
  • Screening within an appropriate programme

These examples are not recommendations for screening or self-referral. An examination may have limitations and may not answer every clinical question.

Preparation

Preparing for your visit

Patient discussing the visit with a doctor in a well-lit consultation room

Avoid deodorant, powder or lotion on the breasts and underarms on the day. Bring previous breast imaging if requested.

Bring any referral or previous imaging requested by the team. Confirm instructions for your exact scan; do not change medication or fast based only on this demo.

Safety, considered individually

Uses ionising radiation and breast compression. Discuss possible pregnancy, implants and any symptoms with the team; screening suitability is individual.

Appointment

Your appointment and report

Approx. visit duration
20–30 minutes
Illustrative report turnaround

Times are demo planning estimates, not guarantees. Preparation, contrast, additional images or specialist review can change the timeframe. Real imaging findings need interpretation by an appropriately qualified professional and discussion with your clinician.

FAQs

Questions before your scan

Can I book a real appointment here?

No. The appointment preview only records a location preference in local page state. It does not contact a facility or reserve a time.

Will I need contrast or special preparation?

That depends on the examination and your circumstances. The imaging team must confirm the protocol and preparation; this demo does not determine them.

What if I need urgent medical attention?

This demonstration cannot provide urgent imaging or clinical advice. Use an appropriate local healthcare service for urgent concerns.
